How (not) to Fix a Brisket

Ingredients and supplies:
crock pot
2-3 lb brisket
Stubbs Bar-B-Q Spice Rub
Colgin mesquite flavor Liquid Smoke

Remove crock pot from cabinet, place on counter and plug in.
Remove brisket from package and place in crock pot.
Turn on crock pot and set it to cook on low.
Realize you forgot to put the spice rub on the brisket.
Remove brisket from crock pot, turn pot off, and place brisket on cutting board.
Liberally sprinkle spice rub on both sides of brisket and rub in.
Try not to gag as the fat lifts as you rub the spice on the brisket.
Contemplate becoming vegetarian (you'd consider vegan but you enjoy honey, eggs, gummy bears, and marshmallows too much).
Place brisket back into crock pot.
Place lid on crock pot and set the pot to cook on low.
Realize you have forgotten to add the Liquid Smoke.
Remove lid from crock pot and dump bottle of Liquid Smoke into the pot on top of the brisket.
Replace lid.
Contemplate going back to bed. Clearly you need more sleep.
