Ingredients and supplies:
crock pot
2-3 lb brisket
Stubbs Bar-B-Q Spice Rub
Colgin mesquite flavor Liquid Smoke
Remove crock pot from cabinet, place on counter and plug in.
Remove brisket from package and place in crock pot.
Turn on crock pot and set it to cook on low.
Realize you forgot to put the spice rub on the brisket.
Remove brisket from crock pot, turn pot off, and place brisket on cutting board.
Liberally sprinkle spice rub on both sides of brisket and rub in.
Try not to gag as the fat lifts as you rub the spice on the brisket.
Contemplate becoming vegetarian (you'd consider vegan but you enjoy honey, eggs, gummy bears, and marshmallows too much).
Place brisket back into crock pot.
Place lid on crock pot and set the pot to cook on low.
Realize you have forgotten to add the Liquid Smoke.
Remove lid from crock pot and dump bottle of Liquid Smoke into the pot on top of the brisket.
Replace lid.
Contemplate going back to bed. Clearly you need more sleep.

This Week's Blog Assignment (TWBA) from My Great Retreat
I just joined another forum called My Great Retreat (mygreatretreat.com - if you join, my username is joana1n for the referral). They have a weekly blog assignment and since this blog, my original blogger blog that I started long before I had kids, doesn't get much love any more, I thought I'd start doing at least a weekly post. We'll see how long I keep up with it.
Anyway, this week's blog assignment is "What do you enjoy snacking on?"
Organic Gummy Bears, since I don't do Red 40 - it makes me crazy hyper. Add a cold bottle of Coca Cola made in Mexico (so it is made with sugar, not high-fructose corn syrup), and YUM. Best. Snack. Ever. !!!
And the last couple of days I've enjoyed munching on the gluten-free lemon bars I made. They contain eggs and everyone else in this house (except the baby) is allergic to eggs, so they are mine, all mine.

No Jacket = BRRRR!!!
I looked at the weather app before leaving the house the other evening.
52 degrees. I was wearing a long sleeve t shirt and a heavy sweatshirt so I figured I would be fine without a jacket.
I got in the car and after pulling out of the garage, started getting really cold. And the car got colder and colder... Sure didn't feel like 52 degrees!
Because it wasn't!
Wished I had taken a jacket after all!
